About the regatta

A Vancouver sailing tradition

First held in 1988 for Lasers, Bluenose now welcomes multiple dinghy and foiling classes and is a mainstay fall regatta for sailors from across the Vancouver-area and bayond.

Each year, visiting sailors from the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island head to English Bay for a weekend that brings juniors entering their first regatta together with experienced racers. It’s a chance to race, reconnect and share the season with the wider sailing community.

After Saturday’s races, sailors and coaches come ashore for a warm meal and hot chocolate.
